A community owned solar project that will generate clean local electricity, reduce carbon emissions and benefit wildlife as part of Acomb’s contribution to tackling the climate crisis.

Key facts

  • Clean local energy

    The solar array is expected to generate around 829,000 kilowatt hours of clean electricity each year - roughly the same as the annual use of 300 homes.

  • Carefully chosen site

    The site was chosen because it’s a low productivity field in the most suitable location for the project.

  • Supporting local wildlife

    The solar field will be managed for wildlife with new hedgerows and a wildflower meadow creating better habitats for birds, insects and small mammals.
